Meet Dr. Ashley Pineda

Finding the right therapist is important.

You need someone who really gets you and your unique journey. I believe in creating a space where you can feel comfortable being yourself. I'd like to share a bit about who I am, so you can get to know me better.

I always knew I wanted to help people and, in college, I found clinical psychology. I loved that it let me learn about how people think and feel, and also learn how our brains work. Right away, I knew this was what I wanted to do.

The best part of my job is seeing people grow and heal.

I love creating a safe place where people feel comfortable sharing thoughts they've never told anyone before. It makes me happy when clients come back years later to tell me how our work together helped them, and topics we talked about that made their lives better.

In our sessions, I'm my real self - kind, patient, and a good listener. I pay attention to details and believe laughter helps healing. Outside of work, I enjoy traveling, hiking, baking, going to plays and concerts, gardening, and helping in my community. I even take my cat hiking with me sometimes!

My Background & Training.

I studied at Vanderbilt University, where I got my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology with a focus on Children and Families. I also trained at Stanford University, working at the children's hospital there.

I've worked in many places, including mental health clinics and children's hospitals. Now, I'm certified with the National Register of Health Service Psychologists and teach at Vanderbilt University.

Throughout my professional journey, I've had meaningful experiences that have deepened my empathy and understanding of health challenges. These experiences have reinforced my belief in the effectiveness of the therapeutic approaches I use and have enhanced my ability to connect with clients facing various difficulties. My background has shown me firsthand that the skills I teach really do work in practice.
